INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR - 8 & 9 OCTOBER 2003
The Instituto Andaluz de la Mujer (the Andalusian Institute for Women) and the Directorate General of European Funds of the Economy and Finance Bureau have created an Equality and Gender Unit, an ongoing support structure to commence and consolidate the introduction of Gender Mainstreaming in the Junta de Andalucía (the regional government body in southern Spain.)
Among the aims and objectives of this Equality and Gender Unit are the dissemination and exchange of experiences and methodologies about the application of the Integrated Gender Approach in Spain, other countries and international organisations.
For that reason, an INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR has been organised. Its aim has been to be the setting that brings about this exchange of experiences and expertise, mainly by contributions about work carried out by international organisations, i.e. the UN or the European Commission, and also work carried out in other countries in Europe and other continents.
This SEMINAR aimed to combine theoretical presentations with practical and participative workshops for a better knowledge of the tools and methodologies of the application of gender mainstreaming which have already been applied and assessed or which are currently being adapted.
You can see the all the information and documents of the Seminar here.
Diagnostic.-
The Equality and Gender Unit has carried out an initial research in some management centres which are developing the Andalusian Operative Programme 2000-2006, collecting quantitative data (42 management bodies took part and we obtained information on 10 Ministries and 24 General Directions) and qualitative data (14 management bodies took part, and we obtained information on 8 Ministries, of which 5 are General Directions and 8 are Service Headquarters), on the needs and potentials of the management centres which implement Operative Programme measures.
The relevant information and conclusions can be reviewed in Documentation.
As this initial research collects only data of a small sample of the Administration, you are hereby invited to take part in the gender diagnostic (by means of an interview or questionnaire) of your work unit. To do this, you can request our intervention through this website. The aim is to carry out a general diagnostic of the Andalusian Administration in the period 2000-2006.
The questionnaire will be available shortly to be filled in directly in this webiste, whereas the interview can be requested through the following form:
